Paula Brown Kelley
KCRE Principal Broker and President
Paula Brown Kelley has worked as a professional in the commercial real estate field since 1986. Ms. Kelley is particularly known for her concentration on the sale and leasing of office buildings located in the Greater Washington, DC area. Her many years of experience have provided Ms. Kelley with a significant background in building finance and marketing, along with other crucial skills required to effectively negotiate a sale or lease in today’s competitive market.
Ms. Kelley began her career with Development Resources, Inc. (DRI), a noted regional developer originally headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, where she was responsible for marketing the DRI portfolio of newly constructed buildings to associations and corporations. Ms. Kelley worked with architects, designers, lending institutions and the DRI development team to create a successful marketing program to attract prospective tenants and purchasers to the DRI projects. During the 1980s and 1990s, more than 200 nonprofit associations relocated to Alexandria as a result of an aggressive targeted marketing campaign by the City and by developers such as DRI.
A principal of DRI later formed Commercial Real Estate, Inc. (CRE), a real estate brokerage firm located in the District of Columbia, for which Ms. Kelley acted as an associate broker. She was later recruited by Gates, Hudson & Associates (currently known as Gates Hudson) where she served as associate broker in managing a commercial real estate office building portfolio.
In 1998, Ms. Kelley formed Kelley Commercial Real Estate, Inc. (KCRE) and has developed several longstanding relationships with nonprofits, law firms and corporations in the Washington area through her leasing and sales experiences. Transactions handled by Ms. Kelley include the representation of tenants in their lease negotiations, purchasers in headquarters acquisition and building owners in need of commercial real estate consulting services.
Ms. Kelley is active in her community. She has served as president, community service chair and public image chair of the Rotary Club of Fairfax. Ms. Kelley is a member of (NAR) National Association of Realtors, GCAAR (Greater Capital Area Association of Realtors), the Central Fairfax Chamber of Commerce as well as the Northern Virginia chapter of Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW). Paula also serves on the Advisory Board of the Salvation Army – Fairfax Corps.
